Flood Seminar: Everything you need to know
What a success! Our Flood Seminar took place at St. Paul’s House in London on Thursday 2nd March 2017 and we’re so pleased with the feedback we have received so far.
For those of you who couldn’t make it, we wanted to provide you with a little insight that was shared by our three speakers on the day.
Groundwater Flooding – The Hidden Peril, Dr Maxine Zaidman, JBA
Dr Zaidman considered the frequently underestimated risk of groundwater flooding; what it is, the mechanism as to why it occurs and why so many properties were flooded as a result of this hidden flood peril during the winter of 2013/14 when groundwater levels reached record highs and the various different types of flooding.
The Real Link Between Flooding and Ground Stability, Dr Clive Edmonds, Peter Brett Associates
Dr Clive Edmonds addressed the perceived problems of sinkholes in greater detail, the widespread damage such collapses can create including trigger mechanisms and the important link between flood climatic periods and ground stability.
